Applications are invited for a Project Assistant – I position to work on a project titled “Ecological impact and value addition assessment for sustainable management of invasive Nymphaea species in the wetlands of Kerala” at the Department of Chemistry, Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Thevara, Kochi.
The duration of the project is 2 years and is funded by Kerala State Biodiversity Board.
Position: Project Assistant (No. of posts: one). The position is likely to be available for 2 years or till the termination of the project, whichever is earlier.
Qualification:
MSc.Chemistry/Polymer-Chemistry/Botany/Zoology/Environmental Chemistry/Environmental Sciences (minimum 60% marks). (Candidates who have qualified NET/GATE will be given preferences).
Job Description: The project will involve investigation and synthesis of nano particles from Nymphae species for sustainable value-added products and services, such as biofuel, bioplastics, handicrafts, extraction of cellulose nanofibers, antibacterial nano papers (essential oil impregnated cellulosic papers), studies and characterisation of the synthesised products.
Fellowship: Candidates with prior experience will be preferred. Rs. 19,000 per month for two years.
Eligible and interested candidates are requested to come with all the relevant documents including CV for the walk-in interview scheduled at 9.30 am on 18/12/2023, at the Department of Chemistry, Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Thevara, Kochi.
Applications are invited from Second Year PG students of Sacred Heart College, Thevara to conduct innovative student research project under “Heartian Initiative for Building Innovation, Research and Development Scheme-2023(HI-BIRDS2023)”.
