On the occasion of Reading Day / Readers Day 2026, the NSS Unit 31 of Sacred Heart College, Thevara, in association with the principal, honoured Mr. Biju V.V., College Librarian, in recognition of his dedicated service and invaluable contribution to fostering a culture of reading, learning, and knowledge among generations of students.

The felicitation ceremony, held on 19 June 2026, celebrated Mr. Biju’s unwavering commitment to promoting reading habits and lifelong learning within the college community. Through his sincere efforts and stewardship of the college library, he has played a significant role in nurturing intellectual curiosity and academic excellence among students.

The programme, titled “വായനയുടെ കാവലാൾ – Honouring the Guardian of Reading,” served as a tribute to a true custodian of knowledge whose work continues to inspire the academic community.

Quoting Henry Ward Beecher, “A library is not a luxury but one of the necessities of life,” the event highlighted the enduring importance of libraries and librarians in shaping informed and enlightened citizens.
