National Fish Farmers Day Commemorated at Sacred Heart College

The Department of Aquaculture, Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Thevara, commemorated National Fish Farmers Day on 10 July 2026 with a programme celebrating the invaluable contributions of fish farmers to food security, sustainable livelihoods, and responsible aquaculture.

The event featured Mr. Dinil Prasad P. M., Aquaculturist, as the Guest of Honour, who delivered an insightful session on "Sustainable Aquaculture for a Better Tomorrow." He highlighted the importance of adopting sustainable aquaculture practices to ensure environmental conservation while meeting the growing demand for aquatic food resources.

Held at Fr. Melesius Hall at 1:30 PM, the programme paid tribute to the dedication, resilience, and commitment of fish farmers whose efforts continue to strengthen the nation's food security and promote a sustainable future. The event also encouraged students to appreciate the role of sustainable aquaculture in addressing global food and environmental challenges.
