Mental Health in Calamities and Emergencies – Digital Poster Design Competition
On 3 November 2025, the Department in association with Happiness Kochi hosted a Digital Poster Design Competition centered on the critical theme of "Access to Services: Mental Health in Calamities and Emergencies." Open to both undergraduate and postgraduate students, the event encouraged participants to explore the psychological impact of crises and the importance of accessible support systems through a creative, digital lens. By integrating graphic design with mental health advocacy, the competition successfully highlighted the urgent need for specialized intervention during humanitarian emergencies.
The primary objective of the initiative was to foster heightened awareness and provide a platform for student creative expression regarding mental health resilience. The diverse entries underscored the students' ability to translate complex clinical concerns into impactful visual narratives, promoting dialogue on community-wide psychological support. This event effectively utilized modern communication tools to educate the campus community on the intersection of disaster management and mental health services.
