HUG Yourself – Depression Screening Tool

In observance of World Mental Health Day on 10 October 2025, the department conducted a pivotal awareness initiative titled "HUG Yourself." This program specifically targeted the early identification of depressive symptoms and aimed to normalize proactive help-seeking behavior among the student body. By focusing on emotional well-being, the initiative provided a supportive environment for students to reflect on their mental health status and understand the resources available for professional support.

A key feature of the event was the introduction of a digital, QR-based depression screening tool designed for self-assessment. This innovative approach allowed students to privately and conveniently evaluate their mental health through a series of evidence-based questions, promoting self-awareness and reducing the stigma often associated with formal clinical screenings. The event successfully combined digital accessibility with compassionate outreach, reinforcing the department's commitment to fostering a mentally healthy and self-aware campus community.
