The Department of Physics at Sacred Heart College will host the U.G./P.G. Project Presentation Competition under the prestigious Prof. Dr. Siby Mathew Endowment Award, instituted by the 1999 batch of Physics students in honour of their beloved teacher, Prof. Dr. Siby Mathew. The competition will be held on 27 February 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Melesius Hall, Sacred Heart College, Thevara.

Prof. Dr. Siby Mathew, a retired Professor of the Department of Physics, rendered 33 years of dedicated service to the institution before his retirement in 2022. During the final phase of his illustrious career, he served as Head of the Department, Vice Principal, and Controller of Examinations, contributing significantly to the academic and administrative excellence of the college. He also served with distinction as a Naval Wing officer in the National Cadet Corps for 26 years, attaining the rank of Lieutenant Commander.

The endowment award and project presentation competition stand as a tribute to his remarkable commitment to academic excellence, leadership, and mentorship, while encouraging young scholars to pursue research with dedication and innovation.
