The Department of Sociology is organising an academic session titled “Introduction to Sociology of Health: A Critical Public Perspective” on 09 January 2025, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, at Palackal Sofia Hall. The session will be led by Prof. Dr. Joe Thomas, Chair of Global Public Health (Sustainable Policy Solutions), Associate Dean of the Faculty of Social Innovation, Partnerships, and Co-creation, and Former Technical Advisor on various global health projects with the World Health Organization (WHO). He is also the Founding Director and Professor of Social Determinants of Health and Social Policy at Jodhpur National University and Former Professor of Public Health and Global Health, as well as Head of the School. The programme will be presided over by Dr. Biju C. S., Principal, with Sanjose A. Thomas, Head of the Department, coordinating the event.
