The Commerce Association (Comverse) of Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Thevara successfully organised the inter-college academic competition “Best Commerce Specialist” on 9 February 2026. The event was designed to assess participants’ conceptual clarity, analytical ability, decision-making skills, and real-world awareness in the fields of commerce and business.
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students representing reputed institutions, including Rajagiri College, SD College Alappuzha, and NDA College, Pune. The event provided a vibrant academic platform for students to showcase their knowledge and professional competencies.
Structure of the Competition
The competition was conducted in four rigorous rounds, each aimed at evaluating different dimensions of commerce expertise:
Quiz Round – Tested participants’ fundamental knowledge and awareness of current developments in commerce, finance, accounting, auditing, and business affairs.
Case Study Analysis – Assessed analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to apply theoretical concepts to real-world business scenarios.
Portfolio Analysis – Evaluated participants’ understanding of investment concepts, financial decision-making, and risk analysis.
Final Round – Stress Interview – Focused on communication skills, professional attitude, presence of mind, and the ability to respond effectively under pressure.
Each round was judged by a panel of faculty members and subject experts, ensuring fairness and academic rigor throughout the competition.
After a highly competitive final round, Mr. Aabas Chouhan from NDA College, Pune emerged as the Winner of Best Commerce Specialist, demonstrating exceptional competence across all rounds. The winner was awarded a cash prize of ₹7,500.
All participants were provided with E-certificates in recognition of their participation.
Following the competition, the programme formally marked the conclusion of the Commerce Association (Comverse) activities for the academic year 2025–26. The concluding session highlighted the achievements of the association throughout the year and acknowledged the efforts of student coordinators and faculty members.
The event was further enriched by cultural performances presented by the students, which added a celebratory spirit to the programme. These performances showcased the artistic talents of the students and provided a lively and engaging conclusion to the academic proceedings.
