Examination Cell


Examination Cell is a statutory body constituted in accordance with the University Grants Commission’s guidelines for autonomous Colleges. The Examination Cell of Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Thevara is headed by the Controller of Examinations duly appointed by the Manager of the College as per statutory provisions and the Principal of the College acts as the Chief Controller of Examinations.

 The policies with regard to the conduct of the examination and evaluation are proposed by the Examination Committee which acts as an advisory body on matters related to the conduct of the examinations and evaluation and are approved by the Academic Council, Governing Body and the parent University before implementation. The Committee consists of the Chief Controller of Examinations, Controller of Examinations, Deputy Controller of Examinations, Additional Chief Superintendent, Academic Deans, IQAC Coordinator and other faculty nominated by the Principal. The conduct the examinations and the evaluation processes are in accordance with the guidelines stipulated in the examination manual.

The office of the Controller of Examinations is a fully automated facility with necessary infrastructure for generating question papers, conducting evaluation work, preparing results and the printing of mark lists and other relevant confidential materials. It undertakes all activities related to Continuous Internal Assessment and End Semester Examinations, publication of the examination results and the intimation of the consolidated Tabulation Report to the University as per schedule. The office activities are coordinated by a team consisting of a Deputy Controller, office assistants, computer programmers, data entry operators and other helpers, under the guidance of the Controller of Examinations.
