Dear Heartians,
The academic year is at its dusk - yet the campus appears to be all abuzz with activities. We are witnessing tremendous potential of the students and its unleashing through very creative and grand programmes. Though we are anxious, whether the typical academics would suffer, yet we let the youth energy flow.
It all began with a 'BOOM' - festival organised by Economics Department, the campus witnessed student creativity with Sociology students' RIPPLES; Zoo- people going after the avians through their lively GENSYS programme; Commerce with their much acclaimed Tandav donning a new garb called 'AGORA'; Tourism students opening up the Hospitality World through 'Travel-o-scope'; Physics people with 'FERMIO', an expo of indigenous innovations; Botany with a fair-cum-exhibition (Kinash 2016) of plant diversity and products that came out of 'hands on training' and above all, with the Students' Union involving hundreds of students in asplash of creative imagination inspired by BIENNALE as 'parva'. I hope the walls will go beyond the typical 'ears' they are supposed to have, to a golden tongue that will speak 'wisdom' to those who enter the campus. With INSPIRE (Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research) programme supported by DST, accommodating over 250 bright +1 students for five days on the campus, and eminent teachers and scientists bringing in their rich experience, with the Nobel Laureate Prof. Ei-ichi Nigeshi in the lead, the college has once again extended its arms to inspire a wider audience of knowledge seekers
Back to basics and its business - all departments are undergoing an academic audit for learning insights to grow bigger and do better. NCC cadets have done us proud by representation in the RD parade and International Youth Exchange Programme. The alumni led HEAL programme has really made a good start, with a pledge and call to all the alumni to share one day's earnings to support the HEAL (Heartian Extended Arm for Life) programme for Cancer Prevention and a Model Urban Space - swacch Thevara! all heartians (the larger network of students, alumni, parents, staff and community) are welcome to join this unique 'pursuit of wisdom'!!
