World Ocean Day Seminar: Reimagining Our Connection to the Ocean
The National Service Scheme (NSS), in association with the Department of Environmental Studies, will organize a seminar on the occasion of World Ocean Day on the theme “Guardians of the Blue: Reimagining Our Connection to the Ocean.” The programme will be held on 8 June 2026 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Marian Hall, Main Campus.
The seminar will be led by Nadirshah P. S. Nawab, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Environmental Studies, who will share insights on the importance of ocean conservation, sustainable marine resource management, and the collective responsibility of protecting marine ecosystems for future generations.
Organises as part of the global observance of World Ocean Day, the programme seeks to raise awareness about the vital role oceans play in sustaining life on Earth and to inspire participants to adopt environmentally responsible practices. Through meaningful discussions and reflection, the seminar will encourage the college community to become active stewards of the oceans under the message "Our Ocean. Our Future. Our Responsibility.”
