The Department of Environmental Studies celebrated Onam 2024 with great enthusiasm and traditional splendour. The event, organized by the students and faculty, brought together the spirit of unity, cultural pride, and festivity that marks Kerala’s harvest festival.
The celebrations began with the melodious rendition of traditional Onam songs, featuring individual, duet, and group performances that evoked the nostalgic charm of the season. The rhythmic beats of Thiruvathira, performed by the students in elegant attire, captured the grace and cultural richness of Kerala’s heritage.
Adding vibrancy to the day were group dance performances, which showcased creativity and coordination, while the beautifully crafted Onam Pookkalam (floral carpet) added colour and festivity to the occasion.
Fun-filled Onam games and interactive activities further enlivened the celebration, creating a joyful atmosphere of togetherness among students and faculty members. The entire event truly reflected the essence of Onam — a time of joy, equality, and cultural harmony.
The celebration concluded with everyone joining in a moment of camaraderie, cherishing the spirit of the festival that binds us together beyond academic pursuits.
