In observance of International Ocean Day, the NSS Unit of Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Thevara, will organise a beach cleaning drive at Chellanam Beach on June 8 from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM. The programme will be conducted under the theme “Our Ocean, Our Responsibility” with the objective of promoting environmental awareness and encouraging collective action towards the protection and conservation of marine ecosystems.

The initiative will bring together NSS volunteers who will actively participate in cleaning the beach and spreading awareness about the importance of reducing pollution in coastal areas. Through their involvement, the volunteers will demonstrate the significance of responsible environmental practices and community engagement in preserving natural resources.

Carrying the message “Together We Can Make a Difference – Clean Beach, Blue Ocean, Brighter Future,” the drive will highlight the vital role of responsible citizens in safeguarding the health and beauty of our oceans. The programme is expected to inspire greater environmental consciousness and reinforce the shared responsibility of protecting marine ecosystems for future generations.
