Student Participation in SPARC-Sponsored Indo-Korean International Symposium on Air Pollution and Human Health (10 and 11 February 2026)
Students from the Department of Environmental Studies actively participated in the SPARC-sponsored Indo-Korean International Symposium on “Air Pollution and Human Health: Emerging Challenges”, organized by the School of Environmental Studies (SES), Cochin University of Science and Technology, on 10 and 11 February 2026. The symposium was conducted under the SPARC (Scheme for Promotion of Academic and Research Collaboration) initiative, promoting international academic cooperation and advanced research dialogue between Indian and Korean institutions.
The programme featured expert lectures, academic discussions on emerging air pollution challenges, and innovative research perspectives linking atmospheric science and public health. Our students actively engaged in the technical sessions and contributed to the academic discussions, gaining exposure to international research perspectives, interdisciplinary approaches, and emerging mitigation strategies in air pollution management.
Participation in this international symposium strengthened students’ scientific outlook, presentation skills, and global research orientation, aligning with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and SDG 13 (Climate Action). The department appreciates the initiative of SES, CUSAT, in facilitating such a valuable academic platform for young environmental scholars.
