Naked Wheels, a documentary by Rajesh James Assistant Prof.
Department of English, seeks to explore many compelling thoughts on life, love,
and gender. It is a journey undertaken by a diverse group of people comprising
males, females and transgender.
The movie is delicately made to interpret the politics of
travelling together. However, the camera is wide open towards the misery in the
life of transgender people and speaks out aloud that their dignity is denied
Travel these days means entertainment, reaching various destinations.
But I wanted to portray this journey as a metaphor for life, a political act.
Our history is replete with such journeys - Yatras - undertaken by social
reformers," says Rajesh.
The film hopes for a society where none have to crush their
desires because the majority does not understand it.
