Cash Course: From Pocket Money to Financial Freedom
The Economics Association, in collaboration with YWCA, SWASTI, the Zoology Department, and the Institution's Innovation Council (IIC), organised “Cash Course: From Pocket Money to Financial Freedom” on 8 January 2026 at Fr. Melesius Hall. Led by Ms. Devika D, Mr. Devkrishna S, and Mr. Ronn Binu K, of I M.A Economics. The interactive session aimed to enhance students' financial literacy and awareness. The programme covered key topics such as smart saving habits, the basics of investing, credit card usage, the importance of financial planning, and protection against financial fraud. Through practical examples and engaging discussions, participants gained insights into responsible money management, the power of compounding, various investment options, and the effective use of credit cards. The session encouraged students to develop healthy financial habits and make informed financial decisions for a secure future.
