The SADAS Club of Sacred Heart College, Thevara, in association with the Excise Department, Ernakulam, and the Student Development Office, organised an awareness programme on “മയക്കുമരുന്ന് ഉപയോഗവും അതിന്റെ നിയമ വശങ്ങളും” (Drug Abuse and Its Legal Aspects) on 10 September 2026 at 3:30 PM at Fr. Melesius Hall.

The programme focused on promoting awareness, responsibility and action among students regarding drug abuse and its legal implications. Ebrahim K. S., Assistant Excise Inspector and Vimukthi Mentor, Excise Range Office, Kothamangalam, served as the resource person.

A special highlight of the programme was the honouring of Fr. Dr. Joseph Kusimalayam CMI for his inspiring cycling journey across Kerala to promote awareness and advocate for a drug-free society.

The programme was coordinated by Dr. Ammu Rosin Jose and Dr. Jaison M. J., with student coordinators Medhusalaf Thomas and Mariam Anna John.
