Sacred Heart College Observes National Fish Farmers Day
The Department of Aquaculture, Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Thevara, observed National Fish Farmers Day on 10 July 2026 with a programme dedicated to recognizing the invaluable contributions of fish farmers towards ensuring food security and promoting sustainable aquaculture.
The programme featured Mr. Dinil Prasad P. M., Aquaculturist, as the Guest of Honour, who delivered an engaging talk on "Sustainable Aquaculture for a Better Tomorrow." He shared insights into sustainable fish farming practices, emerging opportunities in the aquaculture sector, and the importance of balancing productivity with environmental stewardship.
Held at Fr. Melesius Hall, the event brought together students and faculty members to celebrate the dedication and hard work of fish farmers while creating awareness about the vital role of aquaculture in building a resilient and sustainable future.
