The Department of Botany, Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), organized an Invited Talk titled “Biodiversity in a Citizen Perspective” on 8^TH June, 2026, from 2.30 PM to 3.30 PM at the Melesius Hall. The programme was jointly conducted under the auspices of the Department of Botany and Zoology in association with Primrose Nature Club and Bhoomithrasena club. Resource Person: The session was delivered by Dr. N. S. Pradeep, Director-in-Charge of Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment – Malabar Botanical Garden and Institute for Plant Sciences (KSCSTE-MBGIPS) Kozhikode, served as the resource person. The session intended to create awareness about the importance of biodiversity and the role of citizens in protecting nature. It was also designed to emphasize sustainable living and individual responsibility in conserving the environment for a better future. Outcomes and Impact: A total of 101 students participated in the programme. Through an active interaction with the resource person, the student community gained a clear understanding of how simple actions by individuals can contribute significantly to environmental protection and help create a cleaner and healthier environment. The session was highly informative and inspired the participants to adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives and promote sustainable living.
