An awareness programme on Menstrual Health and Hygiene was organised on 19 February at Sacred Heart College, Thevara, as part of the Haritha Keralam Mission’s green initiative in association with SWASTI. Held at Fr. Melesius Hall, the session focused on promoting menstrual hygiene, women’s health, and sustainable practices. Elizabeth Teacher, Councillor of the Kochi Municipal Corporation (Thevara Division), inaugurated the programme and emphasised the importance of awareness and eco-friendly choices. As part of the initiative, 300 menstrual cups were distributed to students. Expert sessions by Ms. Nissa Nishad, Dr. Gayathri Sankar, and Dr. Amaledu Thomas addressed hygiene practices, myths, and safe usage of menstrual cups, making the programme informative, interactive, and impactful.
