Workshop on Mudcrab Farming and Fattening
A technical session on “Mud Crab Fattening” was organized on 28 October 2025 at Marian Hall from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with around sixty participants including faculty, students, and aquaculture enthusiasts. The event began with a prayer song, followed by a welcome address by Dr. Anu Thottappilly, Head of the Department, who emphasized the significance of sustainable aquaculture and the potential of mud crab culture. The session was led by Mr. Arun Das, CEO, and Ms. Asla, Manager, both from Stem Systems, who shared practical insights on water quality, fattening methods, disease management, and the economic viability of mud crab farming. They also highlighted entrepreneurship opportunities in coastal regions. The interactive discussion enriched participants’ technical knowledge and promoted lively engagement. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Leena Raphael, marking the event as an inspiring and informative initiative promoting sustainable aquaculture practices.
