A walkathon was organized on February 23, 2024, to highlight the deteriorating condition of Vanbanad Lake and emphasize the need for its protection and conservation. The event commenced at 8 am from Thevara Ferry and concluded at Chakola Junction. Participants, including students and local residents, carried placards and banners, spreading awareness about the importance of preserving the lake's ecosystem. The walkathon aimed to inspire collective action to save Vanbanad Lake and promote environmental responsibility.
