The Botany Association of Sacred Heart College (Autonomous) Thevara, Celebrated Onam on 27/09/25, Wednesday at Botany Seminar hall from 10:30am to 1:30pm. The programme was named “Onaaravam”. Students and teachers presented themselves in traditional Kerala attire, further enhancing the ambiance. The programme commenced with a prayer. Faculties including teaching and non-teaching members, UG and PG students of the department participated in the celebration. Botany association joint secretary Ms. Liya Hasiln delivered a welcome speech, and Head of the department Mr.Ebin P.J delivered felicitation. The celebration spirit brought by the Athapookalam, created by the students. Students performed traditional dance form Thiruvathira and cultural programmes including four dances and 2 songs performed by the UG and PG students of the department. A Ramp walk and various games were conducted as a part of the programme where both teachers and students participated. Later Boli and Payasam were served. The programme was very well-organized. The Onam celebration strengthened unity and teamwork among students and it provide opportunities for students and faculty to come together, celebrate diversity and strengthen bonds of harmony. The entire session turned out to be an enjoyable and memorable moment to all. Botany association secretary Ms.Elza Mariam delivered a vote of thanks and thereby concluded the celebration by 1:30pm.
