On 25 September 2025, the Postgraduate Department of Psychology, in collaboration with 24FPS and the student association Cognitus, organized a specialized film screening of "Jolt." Directed by Krithik Krishnan, a 2nd Year B.Sc. Psychology student, the short film provided a poignant exploration of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). By utilizing a creative medium to depict the complexities of psychological trauma, the event successfully engaged students in a meaningful visual dialogue regarding mental health.
The screening served as a catalyst for a deeper discussion on trauma and mental health awareness, allowing participants to analyze the clinical symptoms portrayed through a cinematic lens. This initiative highlighted the department's commitment to integrating arts and psychology to promote empathy and clinical understanding. The event not only showcased student talent but also strengthened the campus conversation on supporting individuals navigating the challenges of PTSD and long-term mental well-being.
