The Department of Mathematics is one of the oldest departments in the college. The Degree course was started in 1944 itself as B.A. Mathematics. Later it was discontinued. It was restarted in 1982. At present the department offers an undergraduate programme in mathematics with computer programming as elective subject and a postgraduate programme. The faculty consists of 5 members with 4 MPhil holders. The department has a well-equipped computer laboratory and a reference library has over 1800 books and 3 periodicals.
