The Computer Science Department is a research and training institute. The main objective of the centre is to promote learning in computer languages, application softwares, RDBMS packages, client server architecture, windows based products and networking.
On successful completion of this training programme, the participants are awarded certificates. The centre also conducts occasional short-term training programs.
The centre is provisionally accredited by DOEACC, Department of Electronics, Government of India, for conducting 'O' level courses.
2001-2002 B.Sc Computer Applications, three year degree course was started. It was designed and approved by the UGC and recognized by the Mahatma Gandhi University. It is a self - financing vocationalized course. The course is designed to include Mathematics and Statistics, along with Computer Applications.
