Department of Commerce - Estd.1961

Sacred Heart College Thevara was the first college in Kerala to start the B.Com Degree Course. The department started offering Postgraduate course in 1961. At present the Commerce faculty consists of 9 members with 16 scholars doing research here. The department is a regular winner of university ranks and it is considered one of the most prestigious Commerce Departments in South India.

The reference section of the department has over 1400 books and it subscribes to 12 journals. It has a well equipped computer laboratory with over 15 machines of the latest configurations.

2. Prof P.M. Joseph Scholarship for the best student in I M.Com.
3. Prof. M.L. Jose Memorial Scholarship for text-books, for one student each from I&II B.Com, instituted by Mrs. Metty Jose.
4. Jeeva Jyothi Endowment for the child of NTS from I B.Com, instituted by Mr. K.J. Antony
5. Netin Lalson memorial scholarships for the highest scorer in M.G. University B.Com Degree Exam. Instituted by Mr. Lalson.
