The Vision

The over arching vision of the College is condensed in the motto on the scroll of the College Coat of Arms: Cor Rectum Inquirit Scientiam which means 'A Righteous Heart Seeks after Wisdom'.  The Sacred Heart of Jesus, after whom the College is named symbolizes a passionate love and unending compassion for humanity.  Every student should possess a burning desire for true wisdom and a consuming love for fellow beings.  With training of the heart and the head, the student should be able to sail safely along the troubled waters of the ocean of life (Samsara Sagra) with courage and confidence.  The fundamental goal of our educational institution is character formation.  We intend to impart the skills and attitudes needed to achieve success within the framework of time tested values.  We help students to understand the underlying links between freedom and discipline, independence and interdependence, commitment to self and commitment to others, material success and moral values.  Our approach to education is that it should make the students capable of self-development.  Our system prepares the student to learn to develop a way of thinking, that is, to know the sources and means of obtaining it, how to sort out the information, analyse it, and make meaning out of it for conceptualization and application.

The set goals for our students are to imbibe through education, physical and mental well being, intellectual competence, spiritual maturity and moral uprightness. The ultimate aim is to make the student grow up as responsible citizen of the nation fully involved in the task of nation building.  The vision envisaged is creating a society, which respects individual dignity, nurtures secular values and religious harmony and reaches out to the needy without discrimination of any kind.
