Tourism Club

Tourism in Kerala is going through a significant phase of growth and development. It is a key driver of the state's economy and is a major source of direct and indirect employment for several lakhs of people in Kerala.

Geographically, Kerala is an exotic mixture of nature's very best. The high ranges of the Western Ghats on the east, the Arabian sea on the West, the emerald paddy fields, the virgin forests, the backwaters, and beaches by the dozen make Kerala a traveller's paradise. Kerala, rather conservative in terms of art and traditional values, is progressive regarding facilities like transportation, accommodation and communication. However, tourism industry can develop to its best only with the co-operation and wholehearted patronage of a friendly and hospitable host community. The Department of Tourism, with the objective of launching a massive awareness campaign among the youth of Kerala decided to set up Tourism Clubs in Colleges and schools.

Tourism club of our college was formed in the year 2002. The Club organizes trekking, seminars, quiz, identification of tourist spots etc. sponsored by the Tourism Department. The Tourism Department organizes tourism camps and study tour within and outside the state for selected members of the club. The membership is limited to 60 students as instructed by the Tourism department.
