1944 : The college established on June 16, 1944. Founded by Rev. Fr. John Berchmans CMI and Rev. Fr. Francis Sales CMI, it starts with 276 students in the three intermediate and three degree courses affiliated to Madras University. The courses offered at the degree level are Commerce, Mathematics and Economics. Syriac, Sanskrit, Malayalam and Hindi are offered as second languages. Rev. Fr. Peter Thomas Pynumkal CMI is appointed first principal.
1945 : Rev. Fr. Barthelomew Inter-collegiate Tournaments in Basketball and Volleyball for men and Rev. Fr. Peter Thomas Tournament in Ball Badminton for men begin.Main Hostel is inaugurated.
1946: The group II (Biology) of the intermediate course is introduced.Bosco hostels inaugurated.Zoology museum established.
1947 : Affiliation granted to B.Sc. Chemistry.
1951 : Chemistry Block inaugurated.
1952 : B.Sc Zoology gets affiliation.
1953 : Physics Block inaugurated.
1955 : Diploma course in Social Service begins.
1956 : B.Sc Physics and B.A. Malayalam get affiliation. French introduced as a second language.
1957 : B.Sc. Botany affiliation.Lake-view ground constructed.New office block inaugurated.
1958 : College affiliated to the Kerala University.
1959 : M.A. Economics and M.Sc. Zoology affiliation.
1961: Postgraduate courses in Commerce and Social Work introduced.
1962 : M.Sc. Chemistry gets affiliation.
1964 : College Auditorium and the new Library block inaugurated. Affiliation granted to M.A. English and B.A. Sociology.
1966 : Hobby workshops for students are inaugurated.
1967 : Non-resident student centre opens.Department of Social Work shifted to Kalamassery campus
1968 : Silver Jubilee Year of the College
1975 : Co-education system introduced.Gymnasium and Indoor stadium opened.
1976 : Rev. Fr. Victorian Basket Ball Tournament for women starts.
1980 : D.S.S. and M.S.W. courses are bifurcated and Rajagiri College of Social Science established.
1983 : The College comes under Mahatma Gandhi University.
1984 : M.Sc. in Botany affiliation.
1988 : Department of Botany recognized as a Research Centre.
1991 : Department of Economics approved as a Research Centre.Computer Centre starts.
1994 : Golden Jubilee Year.Department of Zoology recognized as a Research Centre.
1995 : Golden Jubilee Block inaugurated.Golden Jubilee of Bartholomew Tournament celebrated.M.Sc. in Physics affiliation. Renewable Energy Research Centre opened under Physics Department.Renewable Energy demonstration centre 'Mithradham' at Aluva launched as an extension service centre.
1997 : College wins the `R. Sankar Award' instituted by the Govt. of Kerala for the best college in the state.
B.Sc. Industrial Chemistry is sanctioned by the U.G.C. as a vocational course.Lake-view ground modified into a standard Athletic track cum football ground.
1998 : Departments of Chemistry and Commerce approved as Research Centres.B.A. in English (Copy Editor) started.
1999 : College wins the second time the `R. Sankar Award' instituted by the Govt. of Kerala for the best college in the state.M.Sc. in Mathematics affiliation.
2000 : The College accredited by NAAC with Five Star Status.
2001 : B.Sc. in Computer Application affiliation.
2001 : M.Sc. Applied Chemistry (pharmaceutical) started.
2001 : Govt.of Kerala declares the college eligible for the post of Special Grade Principal w.e.f. 1986.
