STEP (Scheduled Tribe Empowerment Programme)

STEP is a tribal empowerment programme undertaken by the staff and students of this college. Staff members and students visit isolated primitive tribe colonies in the forest every year. The team conducts interaction with tribes of different age group to understand their problems. Food, dress and study materials for children are distributed among the tribes. The objectives of the programme are: tribal empowerment through socialization, facilitate interaction between tribal youth and the students, study the specific issues of the colonies visited every year, initiate staff and students into studies in tribal issues, give possible assistance and support to tribes, and to study the water resource management and biodiversity of the surrounding forest.
